Carlsbad Caverns , New Mexico 2022 and the road to Santa Fe 12/2

Last day in Carlsbad area. Let's see what this day brought. I took the natural entrance which led to the big room. It's self guided though you can have the tour if that is what you desire. 750 feet of underground rock formations below. This will take roughly 1.5-2.5 hrs to finish It really depends if you stop to take pics or not. There is an elevator that gets you down and up from here. You want to use it on your way back up. It will lead you to the gift shops. This park is worth the the see. There are some really beautiful stalagmite deposits here. You have to see it to believe it. If you do have the annual pass, make sure you bring it to the cashier area with you. You have to pay a small price for a certain time which was only a $1 but the pass will save you $15.  In this national park, don't leave the pass in your car for once.  Road to Santa Fe.  This was a long drive! Almost 4.5 hrs if you don't stop that is. I had to make roughly two pit stops at least. Roswel...

Guadalupe National Park 12/1/22 Salt Flat, Texas. A day in Guadalupe National Park

Visitor center. It ain't real.  Devil's Hall During this hike, the first half is fairly easy as it is paved. However, halfway through, it is a rocky hike. Wear good shoes or if you hate rocks, skip this one.  I would just like to add when you hit this wall section, be very careful in climbing or stepping over. When you get over that wall, you will come across this small looking pool. It looks very deep actually when you get closer. After that, another 5 mins in or so, you are at the Devil's Hall.  The Plants you will encounter along the way.  Smith Spring loop Trail and Manzanita Springs.  This section is very early on if you take the right section first. Once again, this hike is a rocky one. Not as bad as Devil's Hall but it is fairly rocky.  Nice small spring. The water is really cold. I had the place to myself for at least 15 mins before I moved on.  The Frijole Ranch museum was closed but it's in the very start of the trail.  I didn't g...

November 30, 2022 White Sands National Park

White Sands National Park Sunset @ White Sands National Park (Interdune Boardwalk) Thank God I was able to do the sunset here. I did most of my sledding and photography right across the Interdune boardwalk where I pretty much had the area to myself. The Sand is very soft and cool. It's more worth it to walk it without your shoes; I had my socks on. (Just remember to dust off the sands in your socks, shoes, and supplies before you get into your car. It was a pain in the butt to vacuum it all before I returned my rental car days later). I had a good time here though I had only two hours. I do wish to come back some day to do the other hikes and prolong and perfect my sledding. It be nice to bring friends or family to do this one. The Sled if anything is almost as big as a check in luggage. I got one at the visitors center and only had an hour worth of sledding before I had to return it (You can keep it but I didn't have the room for it so you can sell it back for $5 credit). It...
